UNBOXING
Well I guess for some people that must have been exciting. If you are curious about the unboxing of the new iPad here's a video from YouTube that could help you (New Features coming up next):

FEATURES
The new iPad comes with features that we predicted originally in our post "iPad 3: Everything you need to know" (found here) We were right for some things that are in the new iPad, and almost right for others. Here are the features you need to know if you're buying the new iPad.

1) The new iPad is resolutionary. Yep, that's right. The new iPad now has the highest resolution display, even more HD than what's called an HD TV. And iPad is only 9.7" compared to an HD TV. The Retina Display:

+ Has 264 ppi (pixels per inch)  [iPad 2: 132 ppi, 2X pixels on the new iPad]
+ 44% greater saturation than on the iPad 2
+ A5X Quad-Core Graphics
-Unfortunately makes the new iPad 0.4mm thicker, in order to elevate the pixels, so that color patterns don't get mixed up.

Retina Display mentioned in the new iPad keynote

2) 5 MP iSight Camera. Your memories have never been clearer

iSight is the rear camera inside the new iPad. iSight is now at 5 MP with a larger aperture, so photos look better, and crisper. iSight is the camera that was in older Macs before 2010's FaceTime debut for the iPhone 4, the 4th generation iPod touch, the Mac and the iPad. Ever since, the Mac's webcams were called FaceTime cameras after the debut of FaceTime to the iPhone 4 and other Apple products mentioned. Now Apple is using the high-resolution webcams in the new iPad which are thought to be altered from their debut on the Mac.

An interesting thing pointed out by MacRumors, is that Apple recycled the cameras found in older products and used them for the new iPad. The site states that from iFixit's teardown of the new iPad shows the smae sensors found in the iPhone 4, developed by Omnivision. The front facing (what Apple likes to call it; "FaceTime") camera, the lens are also manufactured by Omnivision, which were used in the iPod Nano with the video camera. Here is an excerpt form the site:

That unit was the Omnivision OV5650. The OV5650 is the second generation back illumination (BI) technology from OmniVision. This 5 Mp camera features 1.75 µm pixels, and is designed to deliver DSC quality in a mobile phone application. The sensor supports HD (1080p) video at 60 fps. Apple specifications for the new iPad also tout the same specification. So the analysis we have just completed… drum roll please... says that the 5 Mp back illuminated CMOS Image Sensor in the new iPad is the same, it is the Omnivision OV5650 (die mark OV290BF).
The front camera in the new iPad is the 0.3 megapixel Omnivision OV297AA unit seen previously in the iPad 2 and the old camera-equipped iPod Nano. Chipworks notes that this isn't the first time Apple has recycled parts into new products, and that the strategy keeps costs and technological risks low.

If you're an iPod Nano owner, and your iPod Nano has a video camera you should have a feel of what the front-facing "FaceTime" camera on the new iPad is like.

It is reported that the new iPad's FaceTime Camera is still VGA at 0.3 MP. It is the same one found in the iPad 2.

3) 1080p HD video recording

The new iPad now comes with 1080p HD video. We tested it out and it looked pretty amazing. Here are some test videos on YouTube:

4) Video Stabilization

The new iPad also comes with video stabilization previously seen on the iPhone 4S, now comes to the new iPad. It's something in iOS that's exclusive to only those two devices. However, video stabilization can be easily seen:

Also previously seen in the iPhone 4S:

5) It's all in the lens

The lens' of the iPad's camera have a wider  ƒ/2.4 aperture and a five-element lens. According to Apple, the new iPad has an advanced "hybrid infrared filter — typically reserved for expensive SLR cameras — keeps out harmful IR light for more accurate, uniform colors" - from Apple's website

from Apple's website

6) 4G LTE

The iPad can now connect to 4G LTE. Not much to talk about here-- basically it's the next generation network, and is almost as fast as Wi-Fi. However, In Australia, Apple's advertising was mislead, because 4G LTE doesn't support Australian networks. If you're in Australia you can get a full refund from Apple if you feel mislead by their advertising.

7) iLife. Completed.

Apple completed their iLife suite when they launched iPhoto for iPad. iPhoto? Yes, you read that right. You may have heard it from the Mac, but now it's on the iPad. Basically, it's a photo editing tool from Apple at $4.99. However, what's special about iPhoto on iPad? It's an "intuitive" way to edit your photos with simple finger dragging, paint brushes and tools like sharpen, soften etc.

Apple also updated Garage Band with Jam session, stabilization improvements and more. iMovie was given a new icon, along with a new inference and more.

8) A5X

The new iPad comes with the A5X chip which is capable of:

  • Quad Core Graphics [iPad 2: Dual Core]
  • 1024 MB of RAM [iPad 2: 512 MB]

PHOTOS TAKEN WITH THE NEW iPAD

from Apple's website

The Verdict?

If you:

  • Bring your iPad everywhere you go, and take pictures and videos, and care about the quality of your pictures/photos.
  • Need fast, 4G internet wherever you go
  • Are an avid gamer
  • Multitask a lot (I mean A LOT!)
  • Want your emails, web pages, documents, text, apps, etc. to be EVEN CLEARER (by 2X)
You should buy the new iPad.

Did you know?: The iPad 2 is also sold next to the new iPad, available in 16 GB [Wi-Fi only, Wi-Fi + 3G] and for $100 cheaper!

Apple Updates for 2011

A possible new iPhone

So far, 2011 has been known as year of the tornadoes and hurricanes, but Apple thinks it (could) be the year of some of the Best technology updates so far...

This is a screen shot of what Apple's homepage looked so far...
Even though Apple already released the iPhone 4 in white we still have absolutely no clue what that little thing on top of it is:
It could be a:
-Improved light sensor for better quality images
- Dual speaker to support previous one
-It could be a movement sensor
-It could be a improved GPS
-It could be an improved gyroscope
-It could be an improved accelerator
-An improved wireless receiver
-An improved phone receiver
--or--
It could be:

-For decoration purposes
-Or really nothing special
We don't know because Apple isn't mentioning Anything on their website or nobody can uncover its' true purpose on the iPhone-- Maybe Apple just wanted to cover that extra white space, or wanted to insert that just for decoration. However, Nothing but the color has changed in the white iPhone 4. All the features (Software, OS, and Hardware) are the same. We are not 100% sure, but due to that additional sensor and the extra weight and pressure (when dying the iPhone) could have made it slightly heavier and possibly
thicker.

Here at Rainbow Posts we always follow the latest updates News and Headlines, One thing that is a piority is to predict the future of Technology and the beneficial standard that it provides. In this next section, We will be presenting updates for the future Generation iPhone. However, we wanted to remind you that:
-When presenting our "thoughts" of future technology we use pictures and images to show our point. However, on many websites you would find pictures like this:

These pictures can be easily classified as "fake" because:
-If you zoom in closely at the right iPhone you could see that it says it has 8GB, however the current iPhone has at least 16GB and has a newly updated design
-The other left image shows all sorts of words and opinions that an iPhone would never have in real life for example, it says "iChat camera". Only the 'old fashioned' Macs have iChat, Now the iPhone 4 has FaceTime, And the latest macs do too. Also the camera in this picture is a maximum of 3 MP while the current iPhone 4 has 5. The Picture also shows that it has a 'squared' home screen button, and even though we can't be 100% sure, but we do know that Apple's iPhone should always have a circled home button.

These are some of the tips that can be very helpful to ensure that the data you are seeing is the data you trust.

So, now that that's over with, Let's get back to the future. We think the next iPhone will be a little different. Here's why:

CRITICAL REASONING:

NAME: Since the iPhone 4 does not have any 'g's at the end of it's name, Many people think the iPhone will be called the iPhone 5. We disagree, due to the history of iPhone names: (Remember, If one product is a little bit different it doesn't mean that all the future ones will be just like that)

iPHONE NAME HISTORY:

-In 2007 the iPhone was called "iPhone" because the "i" stood for internet so the most logical person would think the iPhone is an "internet phone" or "a phone that has internet"

-In 2008 the iPhone was called iPhone 3G because of its' fast 3G network (2007 iPhone had EDGE NETWORK) Logically a person would think "it's the revolutionary internet phone that now has faster 3G speeds)

-In 2009 The iPhone was called "iPhone 3GS" because in addition to its' fast 3G speeds it also means that the RAM (Random Access Memory) was bigger and the iPhone had more capabilities. The 'S' stood for speed. A person would logically think: 'This 'already fast 3G phone' now can do more operations at a time!"
- There's just ONE iPhone that partially broke that rule. iPhone 4.

BROKE RULE: Because it still had 3G speeds
FOLLOWS RULE: 4th Generation and 4th MAJOR iPhone.
Here's what we think of the next iPhone:
It will be called iPhone 4G Because of:
     a) Pattern: iPhone [1], iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone (4), iPhone 4G
     b) It is likely that it will have 4G (On Verizon and AT&T)

Other Features it could have based on costumer reviews, recommendations, suggestions, interviews, press releases, etc.:
-NEW! Camera
    -8.1 MP still pictures
    - Photo Booth
    -Customized photo albums
    -On-device 'touches and enhancements'
    -HD pictures
    -Photo editing studio
    -3D cameras
    -different modes
    -extra themes

    -1080p HD 3D Video
    -iMovie HD, 3D

    -1.7 MP front camera

-NEW! & UPDATED FaceTime Video Calling
-Video chat over 4G, 3G, 2G, EDGE, And of course, Wi-Fi
    -Effects
    -Save video chats
    - 3D video chat
    -Multi-task while chatting
    -HD

A possible iPhone 4G

(ANOTHER POSSIBLE IPHONE IS SHOWN AT THE TOP OF POST)

In addition to all these features, iPhone 4G is supposed to have the new A5 processor (just like on the new iPad 2) Along with 1024 MB of RAM (iPhone 4 has 512 MB). Usually new Apple products are thinner and lighter than the previous one, However, since iPhone 4 is already at 9.7 MM thin, we could only see it at possibly between 8.4 - 9.3 MM thin. The iPhone is also forecast to have its' usual 'curve' (Just like the iPhone 3G, 3GS, and the original iPhone) It could also get hardware enhancements such as more storage for the same price. The latest iOS 5.x will also be presented, with more features to make the new iPhone already better than it is.

UPDATES: (from Mac Buyer's Guide)

We hope this helped.

LATER TODAY: We will be announcing April & May Technology News THIS WEEKEND (maybe even later today. Also more and deeper posts on all your favorite topics will be presented. PLEASE STAY TUNED!

A whole new update. A whole new story. MacBook Pro.

FINISHED AND REFINISHED.

Introducing the new MacBook Pro...

Finally it's here, The day we've all been waiting for... The new MacBook Pro
Better than ever before, X3. Case Closed. or open...

"2011 gives its' best, (yet...) MacBook Pro."
- Rainbow Posts © quote by Rainbow Posts. 2011. All rights reserved.

 MAC OVERVIEW:

Apple is the world's leading technology brand (To most people) and their top selling notebook [MacBook Pro] just got to the next level. Many people choose PCs because they are the "default" of the standard to the computerized world. Others simply like PCs because they're "cheaper", well yesterday Apple released the New MacBook Pro. Maybe today those PC lovers will choose the Mac Side...

MacBook Pro History:

Mac Book Pro is Apple's professional mobile notebook which is the hottest on the market. As well as switching to intel from IBM and moving on to Mac OS snow leopard (Mac OS lion is coming out summer 2011) Apple has made a change once again, but only to MacBook Pro which usually happens every year...

In 2010, the MacBook pro upgraded to intel core i5 & i7 processors. That was impressive, until you read the price tag, And you couldn't get that upgrade for the 13" MacBook Pro. Shame. Now let's see what 2011 has to offer...

For 2011, Apple has released the all new macbook pro. here are just a few new things:

  • Intel i7 for all
  • 3X faster graphics
  • Ultra fast Thunderbolt
  • FaceTime in HD
  • Hard Drive Enhancements
  • More capability
  • Usual updates
  • + More!
Reaching New Heights...

High performance reaches a whole new height.

With up to twice the processing speed, advanced graphics, and ultrafast Thunderbolt I/O, there’s plenty of fast to go around.

New Intel Core i5 and i7 processors.

Up to 2x faster at the core.

New quad-core Intel Core i7 processors are standard on the 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro. And the 13-inch models feature the new dual-core Intel Core i5 processor or the fastest dual-core processor available — the Intel Core i7. All the models use Intel’s recently refined chipsets. So what does all that mean for the new MacBook Pro models? Bottom line: They perform up to twice as fast as the previous generation,1 breezing through demanding tasks like editing HD video, compiling audio, or rendering a multilayered image file. And since Mac OS X Snow Leopard is designed to take advantage of every processor core, it captures every last bit of performance from the processor.
Faster single-chip microarchitecture.
Whether you’re watching a movie, updating your blog, or editing photos, data has to travel from place to place to be processed. The latest Intel Core architecture puts the processor, cache, memory controller, and graphics engine on a single chip. Since data doesn’t have as far to travel, you get faster performance and greater efficiency.
Turbo Boost 2.0.
Say you’re using a processor-intensive application like Aperture 3 or Final Cut Pro that benefits from extra power. Turbo Boost is a dynamic performance technology that automatically increases the speed of the active cores — up to 3.4GHz. Turbo Boost 2.0 is even more dynamic and efficient. By shifting core frequency in smaller increments than before, it allows the processor to manage performance without sacrificing efficiency. All this takes place behind the scenes, so your work just goes smoother and faster.
Hyper-Threading.
Hyper-Threading is now standard on every MacBook Pro. This technology allows two threads to run simultaneously on each core, so Mac OS X recognizes eight virtual cores on a quad-core processor and four on a dual-core processor. When you’re running multiple applications at once, the processor spreads  number of cores
.

Integrated memory controller.
With faster access to memory, each core can get right to work on your data, rather than waiting for it to arrive. That’s why the new Intel Core architecture uses an integrated memory controller to connect fast 1333MHz memory directly to the processor. Together with up to 8MB of shared L3 cache, the integrated memory controller helps your applications run at peak performance.
Energy-efficient graphics.
Thanks to the new microarchitecture, the graphics processor is on the same chip as the central processor and has direct access to L3 cache. That proximity translates into performance. The graphics processor also automatically increases clock speeds for higher workloads. An integrated video encoder enables HD video calls with FaceTime, while an efficient decoder gives you long battery life when you’re watching DVDs or iTunes movies.

Up to 3x quicker on the draw. And the render.

When you need more performance for things like playing 3D games, editing HD video, or even running CAD software, the 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro models automatically switch to discrete AMD Radeon graphics that let you see more frames per second and experience better responsiveness. With up to 1GB of dedicated GDDR5 video memory, these processors provide up to 3x faster performance than the previous generation.2

Introducing Thunderbolt. Data transfer is now lightning fast.

Thunderbolt technology has arrived — and MacBook Pro is the first notebook to have it. Now one connection carries both DisplayPort and PCI Express. With two 10-Gbps data channels, you can transfer data more than 12 times faster than with FireWire 800. And don’t worry about a single drive or peripheral tying up the Thunderbolt port: You can daisy-chain as many as six devices, including your display. So with one tiny, streamlined port, you get lightning-fast transfer speeds and huge expansion capabilities.

Top Tech of the year...Ferrari 458 Italia

BOWN 2010
On video games and the perfect Ferrari

Ludicrous Speed In the Ferrari 458 Italia John Mahoney
Rejoice car lovers! This is a special edition segment based on the amazing new Ferrari (Heads up ladies!) this all new super cool-car is one of the most fastest most powerful, Luxurious, with some of the latest hi-tech gear! with amazing new & Enhanced Features a Ferrari could have. with great durable motors that can handle heavy duty performance without loosing magnitude or being in an accident. And those are just A few amazing features of all this super-slim moving box of hi-tech has to offer...  In reviews of Gran Turismo 5, the long-anticipated PS3 version of the ultra-realistic driving sim, critics pointed out the difficulty of distinguishing screen grabs from the game with actual photos of real-life cars. That’s one of the better indications of just how effectively video games have shrunken the gap between reality and digital representations of reality. But after driving the 458 Italia, Ferrari's latest and greatest feat of hot-blooded automotive audacity, I realized something: the merger of digital and real realities works both ways. What makes the 458 Italia so remarkable is that Ferrari has made piloting a $230,000 sports car feel like playing a video game. or racing with KINECT for XBOX 360.
as the day approached to the test drive, on a sunny and crisp November day, from what I imagine is a fairly unique perspective among the lucky journalists who've had the chance to test-drive the 458 Italia. I haven't owned a car for the last five years, don't really drive much, and have never buckled into anything as remotely powerful (or expensive) as the 458. I love high-performance cars, but my admiration is from afar.

Click to launch the test drive gallery
So to prepare, I did what in hindsight is probably among the better things I could have done. I purchased the 458 Italia in Forza 3, switched on the manual transmission, and logged some laps from my couch, just me and the Xbox.
Getting behind the wheel for real twelve hours later, it's striking just how similar the two experiences are. The Italia's semi-automatic, dual-clutch transmission has no clutch pedal to work (good thing, because I'm not the handiest with a stick-shift). Which makes firing off gear changes with the massive metal paddles behind the steering wheel (described beautifully bysomeone who has more grounds for comparison than I as "buttered-lightning") feel not at all unlike working through the gears with the A and B buttons on my Xbox controller. Had I been driving hard on a track, the Italia's state-of-the-art traction control system would be there to keep all four wheels on the ground. Just like in Forza, purists can opt out of the car's digital assistance with the flip of a switch (something we were strongly discouraged from doing by our considerate handlers at Ferrari, who were looking out for us). In reality, there are no bonus points for eschewing safety; just thrills.

The Wheel: Looking straight out of an F1 cockpit, the steering wheel has buttons for everything from turn signals to wipers to traction control; no stalks to block your grip of the huge metal paddle shifters behind. John Mahoney
Which brings us to the very important thing that the Xbox cannot yet provide: the truly indescribable feeling of stomping on the 458's waiting gas pedal and hitting 60 mph from a rolling slow-start in 3.4 seconds, popping off gear shifts at the behest of the blinking LEDs on the top of the steering wheel (right there in between your white bloodless fists). I've ridden some serious roller coasters. I've sat in the passenger seat of some pretty fast cars burning out. I've even been shot into the sky from the top of a 1,000 foot tower. None come close to matching the giddy brain fizz of 0-60 behind the wheel in the Italia.
Trading lucky Ferrari stories with another non-gearhead in the days following, this feeling naturally came up. "It's like...hooo," she said, shaking her head and tapping on the inside of her elbow with two fingers, implying heavy intravenous narcotics use. Neither of us have ever shot heroin, but the metaphor seems apt; I can see how that full-body rush of endorphins could become dangerously addicting.
So does the 458 Italia provide the ultimate raw automotive experience, or the ultimate digital driving simulation? I would argue both. With so much of the car's operations handled via perfectly responsive automation (it's trust, really), everything but the pure joy of driving fast and hard drops away. I'm no expert, but that's sounds an awful lot like the perfect Ferrari to me. so far... if possibly Apple or Microsoft started created cars and software for them...
